The former premises of Marmorosch Blank Bank were designed and erected in several phases starting with the year 1912. The initial design was signed by the architect Petre Antonescu.

Given its spatial and decorative qualities, the building represents an eloquent example of bank architecture of traditional inspiration of the early XX century.

Consolidation, restoration and renovation works of important historical parts of the building were needed for the purpose of converting the function of the building from a bank to hotel.

Moreover, the interior design was adapted to the hotel function and its complementary functions such as restaurant, retail, pool, spa.

NEW HERITAGE - 3rd place winner for the 2025 Biennale di Venezia Competition

We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of our ambitious project for the renewal of an existing building within Făgăraș protected area. The proposal seeks to honor the architectural heritage of the site while transforming it into a refined three-star hotel. What if architecture could do more than create spaces—what if it could forge connections? Our proposal celebrates Romania’s unique cultural landscapes, where nature and tradition coexist in harmony. This vision reclaims sustainable construction and community-driven practices, reshaping architecture as a mediator between humanity and the natural world. Construction thus becomes a communal act, bringing people together whilst architecture isn’t just built—it’s lived, shared, and sustained.
